Originally created to be an abyssal submarine, the Nautilus has been adaptated to become an exploration starship when conquest of space has taken off. Here you can see the advertising model that has been showed to the public. The Nautilus never lands, it moors to planets thanks to its anchor. Technically, I think that for more stability and to give an impression of move, the ship will have to be a little bit tilted toward the back and the left. The starship can be removed from its base, and a little cap can be put on the hole to hide it (that's an option, tell me what you think of it). Of course, a little blink to Jules Verne...

Nice work. Captain Nemo would be amazed seeing this beautiful little think. It would be great in a steampunk-themed aquarium.

Thank you very much for your votes and comments !

@Acce : your comment touches me deeply ! I am an illustrator, so you can guess how your comment ecourgaes me =) I will think about writing something about my Nautilus, I'm not sure it will be ready before the end of the challenge but I will try. I am working on a book about my dead tree, I have to illustrate it and make the layout, but why not adding another illustrated story ? ;-)

Beautifully crafted design.

Wow. It's amazing. If it weren't for your excellent portrayal of your full design idea, I'd probably only like to see it as a t-shirt if I only got the plain day view. But with all the little details and everything that goes with it, I think this has as much potential as your tree design. I think the cap to hide the hole after removing the ship from its base is also a good idea, but most of all I think I would like to see a story to go with it. Your designs, to me, would make wonderful children's things. Collectible nightlight figures/toys that could come with a picture book. I can definitely imagine the book with this toy to be full of pretty space pictures, and maybe even be a little educational about the universe as well as interesting. Two thumbs up! You get a five!

Thank you very much everybody ! Living in the country where Jules Verne was born, I HAD to give a wink to this wonderful man whose imagination keeps captivating generations of children and old children =)

It must be great to navigate on board, over oceans and space. You've create a beautiful starship, for the mix between animal aspect and machine. I love the base design too !
