About My Design
This is little Dylan waving to the camera, she's getting ready to go on one of her many adventures. I think she was about to hop into a pickle barrel boat and sail the south seas.
Adorable! And a great antidote to the overtly girly stuff girls are bombarded with all the time. As a father of two girls...and a fan of great animation...love this one!
Thanks for the feedback Shoomlah. Yeah this was the first drawing of Dylan to get down her look and stamp of approval from my daughter. I'll attempt one with some of the suggestions you mentioned.
I think this piece would benefit greatly from some evidence of her escapades. She's a great design and really well-drawn, but I would assume she's just a normal kid if I hadn't read the description! Maybe something along the lines of props, a base, or clothing choices could help define that sense of adventure- the pickle barrel boat you mention, a pet parrot, a homemade pirate hat, drawn-on sailor tattoos, that sort of thing. It could actually make for a pretty awesome line of toys, showing off her various imaginary (or not) destinations in the grand tradition of Calvin and Hobbes.
Cool!
