About My Design

I have had a soft spot in my heart for gryphons since I was a youngun'. They are often found in Greek mythology, guarding the gold of the north from the one-eyed Arimaspians. The gryphon is typically thought to have the head and wings of an eagle, and the body of a lion. Since the gryphons of lore are typically majestic, fierce and bloodthirsty creatures, I thought it would be fun to depict sort of a gryphon housepet, if you would. The kind that wouldn't mind a pat on the head and maybe a treat. I couldn't decide on one perfect color scheme, so I settled on a main concept and two color variants. I also think this figure would work well as a paint your own type.

I think my favourite is the shadow variant, and if I were to purchase one of the shown colours, that is the one I'd choose. I think someone else said it, but I'll say it too: I'd really like to see some more colour combinations. Have you considered any patterns for the body? For some reason, I always imagined stripes. That's probably just me though. >_>

Absolutely adorable. And best of all, the anatomy just blends. The only thing that even challenges my belief of this little cutie would be the ears from the front. From behind they're perfect but then the plume seems a little out of touch. Even so, the effect those two features create make it even better. I love it.

Congratulations on winning; you definitely deserved it. This is so cute. When it goes into production, I'll buy it (if it isn't too expensive x_x that's my main issue with this site). I think this is a good take on the gryphon, and it makes me wish that gryphons could really be housepets. My favorite colour scheme is definitely the Frost Variant :3

You are a bitter, selfish person for your comment. Your congratulations sounds ever so much like an insult. "Oh I think your design sucks, but congrats anyways." It has no critical merit whatsoever, and I would hope that you would think about how you might feel if someone said this about a design of yours that was about to be put into production. Obvioulsy you didn't the first time around.

It looks so cute and soft but at the same time is something a little more unique. You don't commonly go out there and see a gryphon plush toy. Plus the light blue hues are lovely.
