Arthur is the least intimidating imp you can find. There is something just to the left of him that he's trying to figure out. Is it a girl imp? A monster? His mother-in-law? Who knows :) First design here, I hope to post more as I get used to the system. Cheers.

Love the design :D.
i love it!!!
Wow, love the colors on his belly. Very cool.
I certainly considered a tail. I just thought he looked more pathetic without one :) Kinda like those dogs that get their tails docked. It's just too funny seeing little stubs (or none at all).
Nice design. I like the colors but I think it would look even better with a tail.
Thanks for the critique Mouse! I agree the wing looks a little tacked on, oops. It should certainly look like it's coming out of his back. If this ever has a chance to be produced I hope that can be addressed. The pose isn't vary dynamic that's true. I wasn't sure what we can do for designs. I didn't want to make something very complicated and get disqualified with my first design! Hopefully the action comes from his fun expression. Future designs will have a little more motion to them. Though a lot of my sketches really focus on expressions and the action of the body comes second.
Another thing I was considering now that I'm researching toys a bit more is that it would be nice to have his legs be on a swivel so the toes can point in or splay out. Would make him even more um . .. pathetic . . looking :)
Are these sort of color blends possible? Or will it have to be simplified down in actual production? I like to blend a lot of interesting colors together for my characters.

Thanks for the comments so far! I understand what you mean Aardvark. I made a note in the design to have the top half (head) more angular than then his round body. Suppose I should either bring that out more or maybe just go with it. Since I like having the colors of his horns and wings completely black perhaps I can break the "angular vs soft" concept because of that. Who knows. It's all a learning curve for me ;)
This guy is pretty cute. I like the colors he's got and his expression is quite funny!
Critique-wise, I noticed his horns and wings are very jagged and angular yet nothing in his body or face really repeat those descriptions. To create a sense of unity within the piece, you may want to consider trying to add some angles or jaggedness to his body.
Wow - you should be a pro designer if you can do this! ;)
It's up! I feel like an overactive puppy after finding this site (minus the "new puppy smell"). This is my first stab at PT and I know I have a lot to learn. I've designed a lot of 2d work and know 3d programs but I never designed something that could end up being a toy (far different requirements I'm sure). Please send me comments and suggestions. I'll do my best to absorb all there is to know and make the next design even better.
~Cheers!
