This is my personal copyrighted character Bolero, the star of many of my student films. He's a a cross between alot of breeds of cattle, so he doesn't quite fit in anywhere. He was disowned by his hornless herd after he started to bud horns, and has been on the move ever since. He's been abused and terrorized everywhere from the rodeo circuit to the slaughterhouse, but has managed to narrowly escape each time. This is Bolero all grown up... bold, wise, and on a mission.

I love cows, and I like the simplicity of the design, very sweet. :)

Nice drawing, but there a ton of cow items on the market.

I played with some colors, and made him look more like an Auroch here...

It's very well drawn, and good looking, but it's hard to connect with if you haven't seen the films. He also currently feels like he lacks character.

Sorry, but it is just a cow. Very well drawn though.

aww shucks, that link samotage posted is practically exactly the same :o| I'd very much like to see a Bolero version 2. Theres so much story to him that you could work on as a designer. The story says he's a cross between lots of cattle breeds, show demonstrate that - part of him can be polkadot/patchy and part of him can be woolly...this horn this way, that horn that way. If he's been abused

Your Calarts film for this character is really nicely done, but what stands out is the storytelling and animation- not necessarily the character design.  While Bolero might mean a lot to you, it's important to remember that you're submitting this for widespread public approval- other people don't have the same sentimental ties to the character, and to us it's little more than a cow.  A quite well-drawn cow, yes, but nothing particularly special when it comes to specialty toys.

You can make this just by shaving off the horns here

The problem with submitting personal characters are that you have to actually make them appealing to the wider public who don't know or care about your character's significance. They just want a cool toy. As it stands, this is simply a bull standing there- it has no appeal, nothing interesting about it, and is flat-out boring. The only redeeming factor of this design is that you've drawn it well, but then again, so have tons of other designs on PT, so that isn't enough to make it stand out. Very few people are going to want your personal character.
