I really enjoyed the gothic style horses that pull the carriages in the Harry Potter series, so I decided to a bit of a twist on that. I really enjoy the idea of giving life and death to imaginary beasts, so here I gave a griffon a skeleton. I really enjoy the work of Damien Hurst, with his de-articulation of animals and humans, and I have learned to appreciate the inner, grotesque workings of every living thing. So here, I am playing with seeing what's under the skin. I just thought seeing a tiny, glow-in-the-dark skeleton across the room would be fun ;)
Foxy-art: I've read every comment you've made on every design in this contest... and all I have to say is... if you can't say something nice, get over it. Being rude and not giving constructive critiques is not helpful to any artist.
i'm hoping production won't be too difficult... I would think it would just be a 2 piece production, first the skeleton and then submerging it in a mold to fill the resin. I'm no toy professional, but I'm hoping it wouldn't be too difficult.
I love how you simplified the skeleton, but I'm not sure how it fits the theme. I was expecting a lot more "retellings" of common storybook characters. Doesn't seem like that has happened with most of the designs. But as I said at the beginning, I do love this design!
really nice idea. I really like the stylization of the bones, especially the little feet.
Thanks everyone! When I came up this design I was really excited. I'm working on a series of them right now :)
I want this. Very Much.
Hah! Dude, that's really cool! 8D Neat idea. c:
I don't really care for the glow-in-the dark skeleton. It seems a bit cliche and obvious (the white would look cool as is).
I do know I want this though! It's got some nice simple shapes that really let the skeleton and charm shine through. I hope it wins! I think it's your best design so far.
Love the idea behind this. So unique! I really like it's expression :)
I just LOVE this !
